Held in conjunction with the Singapore Airshow 2020, the Forum will see leaders from major aerospace companies convene for an inspiring technology convention in Singapore. Eminent speakers from leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of commercial aircraft, engines and components, as well as aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies, will share their insights on the directions of research and development in the aerospace industry.

In conjunction with the Singapore Airshow 2020, SATEC 2020 will be jointly organised by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE). This will be SATEC’s ninth edition and will be held on 12 February 2020 in Singapore. The biennial conference will provide a platform for researchers and engineers from both academia and industry to present and discuss key developments and an opportunity to match theories and practices together. SATEC also aims to enhance the engineering competency of the aerospace sector and promote greater understanding and cooperation between participants.

Revolving around the theme of “Transforming Aerospace through Innovation”, SATEC 2020 will feature emergent technologies from the 4th Industrial Revolution in the aerospace sector. The key focus will be on the innovative use of technology to meet new and evolving challenges in the aerospace industry.

The Aerospace Media Awards is an annual awards dinner celebrating excellence in aerospace journalism and publishing. Founded in 2012, the awards dinner takes place on the eve of the Farnborough and Paris Airshows and consistently delivers an evening of superb hospitality and entertainment. Awards are presented to journalists and publications that have been judged to be the best in their category.

In conjunction with Singapore Airshow 2020, the first Asia Aerospace Media Awards will be presented in Singapore on the evening of 11 February 2020. The objective is to recognise and honour the work of Asian journalists and publishers, as well as journalists based in Asia.

For the first time in conjunction with the Singapore Airshow, Orbis International, Singapore will be organising its Charity Dinner at the Shangri-la. Orbis operates the world’s only Flying Eye Hospital onboard an MD-10, a state-of-the-art teaching hospital that allows them to travel the world to share knowledge and develop skills with communities that need it most. Child-beneficiary, Thinh who was born premature and diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity shortly after his birth went through an eye surgery. Today, Thinh is 8 years old and will be travelling with the Orbis-trained doctor from Vietnam to Singapore to share their amazing stories at the Charity Dinner. Lancet Global Health expects blindness to triple by 2050 without the necessary treatment and preventive intervention.
