Robert WALL is Executive Editor for Defense & Space. Based in London, he directs a team of military and space journalists across the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Wall initially worked at Aviation Week from 1994-2012. Starting as a Pentagon reporter, he was promoted to European-based International Editor in 2005. Wall left Aviation Week in 2012 to report on Europe’s defense industry for Bloomberg News. He then worked at the Wall Street Journal from 2014-2023, first as a defense and aerospace reporter and later as Tech News Editor, based in Silicon Valley. In 2023 he became editor of The Military Balance at the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies think tank. Wall holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington.
