William A. AMPOFO II leads the Parts & Distribution business and Supply Chain function for Boeing Global Services.
The Parts & Distribution portfolio encompasses the largest platform-agnostic aerospace distribution business, which includes the legacy KLX and Aviall subsidiaries, and commercial proprietary and managed parts. Both are supported by the supply chain organization, which ensures efficient service delivery across parts distribution, OEM services, and MRO programs in over 50 countries and more than 300 locations around the world.
Previously, Ampofo served as vice president for the Business Aviation, General Aviation & OEM Services business unit, establishing Boeing as a market leader. He joined Boeing in April 2016 as senior vice president of Global Operations and Supply Chain for Aviall, managing operations, supply chain, capital facilities, global repair services, quality and the chemical management business.
Before joining Boeing, Ampofo spent 22 years at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), where he held various roles in finance, information technology, corporate strategy and operations at its corporate headquarters and its Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky and UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) divisions. While at UTAS, Ampofo served as vice president of Supply Chain, Commodity and Cost Management, responsible for leading its One-Company Supply Chain initiative and driving sourcing and cost reduction strategies across its $5 billion supply base.
Ampofo is a board member for Baxter International and has served on the boards of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and Howard University’s Center of Excellence in Supply Chain Management. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the board of trustees for The Cheshire Academy Preparatory School.
He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Adelphi University and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University. He has completed executive education coursework at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Harvard Business School, Institut Supérieur de Gestion in Paris and INSEAD.
